Strait: a relatively narrow passageway connecting two bodies of water

Straits can be found when two large land masses separated by a large body of water come very close together at a point, creating almost two separate bodies of water at
each side of the narrow section. The Strait of Gibraltar separating the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean is one popular example.
