  Map Page Help

HOW TO - MAP PAGE: The Map Page will help you obtain several essential pieces of information such as latitude, longitude, orbit number, and GMT of your targeted image. The Map page looks like this:

There are two ways to obtain this orbit information:
1. Typing in pre-determined latitude and longitude
2. Clicking on the map.

1. TYPING IN LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE:
If you already know the latitude and longitude of the target image, type it in into "Input Latitude and Longitude" as seen below:

Click on "Determine Photo Opportunities"

You can tell the distance off track is too large by these rules of thumb:
Using 50mm lens: distance off track = 40 mi. or less
Using 180mm lens: distance off track = 15 miles or less

What Area will each lens selection cover (footprint)?
-Using the 50mm lens, footprint is 111mi. x 71mi.
-Using the 180mm lens, the footprint is 31mi. x 20 mi.
For more information on this topic, see:
Camera Lenses

If the distance off track is in fact too large you will need to re-target. There are several ways of trying to increase your accuracy:
1. Go back to the map pages and check your numbers.
2. Also you can click on the map page and the orbit track its self to decrease the distance off track

2. CLICKING ON THE MAP:
If you do not know have the coordinates for the target you wish to target, you can select a target by clicking on the map.
